Bion

Bions are a cross between infantry and cavalry, capable of mounting heavier weapons and more armour. They are fast, but make no mistake - while they can punch apart vehicles, they can be easily swarmed and destroyed by weaker but cheaper infantry. Bots are essentially your "heavy infantry", and can be found in various forms, being:

  • Assault Bion - your general Bot, armed with a heavy bolter intended for use against vehicles.
  • Siege Bion - in addition to an anti-personnel machine gun, it is also armed with grenade launchers, allowing it to destroy buildings and infantry with ease.
  • Stalker - the Stalker is equipped with good LOS and seeking missiles that grant it good AA capability. Against infantry, however, it's not so well placed to survive.
  • Mechanic - repairs vehicles.
  • Peacekeeper: essentially combines the Assault and Siege bot into one single massive unit, capable of taking out anything that moves but is still slow. Peacekeepers can be built here only by certain personalities.

Drones[edit | edit source]

  • Mobile Supply Vehicle: A Drone that generates a field of supply. Can be deployed to create Supply Dumps.
  • Battle Drone - the 23rd century answer to the tank. They are not wheeled, but unlike Bots can be allowed to move across water and impassable terrain.
  • Artillery Drone - self-propelled gun.
  • Hunter - not armed but has good LOS and can be used to scan for hidden enemies.
  • Miner - a unique drone unit that can be tasked to a Mine to increase the speed at which Civilians gather Metal.

In general, Bions are the equivalent of "light cavalry" in pre-20th century armies being cheaper than vehicles, but being weaker than the same, yet having a cheaper priceteag and superior speed.

Salviatian units[edit | edit source]

  • Jäger - stealth Bion
  • Reiniger - an improved Assault Bion that functions like a suicide bomber (the Assault Bion is not available to Salviatia)
  • Zyklop - a nasty Bion unit that can control enemy units without bribery.
  • Walküre - a flying Bion, capable of healing all units. Upgrade of the Mechanic Bion.

These four units all require the use of Vril research in order to obtain them.
