Technologies
As for technologies, your library (or archives) controls all major research, with upgrades and units and improvements reliant on the library. Like all 4X titles (Rise of Nations included) there are 6 tracks of technologies with 5 levels apiece: Politics, Astrodynamics, Microbiology, Cybernetics and Environmental Science. The sixth track, Occultism, is open only to G-SALV.
Unlike the 5, this one has 5 individually-named techs, each researched in succession after one another.
In all, there is a maximum of 30 technologies to research with each non-Occult track level contributing +10 to your Pop Cap. Combined with the maximum number of Citadels and Space Bases you can construct, a grand total of 400 is expected for your population:
- Citadels (2) = 15
- Technologies (25) (250)
- Space Bases (6) = 15
Note however that the Occult track does not increase your Population Cap.
Politics[edit | edit source]
Knowing how much power to give to people and how much compliance to demand of them is the secret to successful empire-building. Politics helps to expand the number of Settlements you control. Each Citadel and Space Base is important for colonial development, geostrategic expansion and each level of politics expands the amount of influence exerted by each Settlement.
At the beginning of the game, you should always have the capacity to build one Space Base, and one Citadel. Subsequently each level of Politics increases the number of Space Bases you can run by 1, so if you have researched Level 2 (Colonial Reforms) you should be able to create 3 Space Bases and 1 Citadel. Upon researching Level 4 (Planetary Federalism) you will be able to create 1 more Citadel in addition to your first one, along with a grand total of FIVE Space Bases. In addition, it also opens up the number of trade routes that your faction can carry along with the number of Freighters.

Astrodynamics[edit | edit source]
Tethering the power of the elements themselves to the will of mankind.
The application of ballistics and celestial mechanics to the practical problems concerning the motion of rockets and other spacecraft, astrodynamics has become all the more crucial ever since the Salviatian Staat first created the very first human colony in space on Luna Universalis.
Astrodynamics helps to allow the construction of advanced structures and weapons systems. And while it is one of the many technologies required to raise your overall Population Cap, its main use is in unlocking the many different structures and units at your disposal — particularly, naval and air units.

Biology[edit | edit source]
- What are organics if not a naturally occurring mechanism?
The field of Biology is the study of living organisms — which belies an ardent desire to manipulate and mould all life itself to one's whims.
Each level researched decreases the build speed and the research time of infantry units, up to a maximum of 33% at Level 5. Note however that the deductions are to the base values, and do not stack.

"What is a machine if not an artificial life form?"
Commerce research will cost you Timber and Knowledge at the Library. When you complete Commerce research, your Commerce Cap goes up for all Resources you gather: Food, Timber, Metal, and Wealth. You can gather more of them only up to the Commerce Cap; surpass the cap and any excess is simply lost to you. Commerce research along with Civics research is also required to gain access to a variety of military units as well.

Environmental science[edit | edit source]
- The study of the heavens can elicit new means to throw down the old gods and their limitations.
Space is actually a harsh place to be in. Beyond a planet's atmosphere, there is no air pressure which human life is heavily dependent on, and there is unmitigated life-threatening radiation from stars. For this reason, we need to research environmental science to create conditions conducive to life.
Environmental science is required in order to reduce the costs of building units and structures, and also allows you the ability to economically exploit your environment. Thus, it goes without saying that each level of research increases your commerce cap, allowing you to host a larger economy.
